Frequently asked questions.

What are your fees?

Dando Luz acknowledges that individuals may be dealing with circumstantial and systemic barriers that may make it challenging for them to access individual therapy. Price should not be a deterrent to accessing quality care, which is why we offer a fee tier system. Please click here read more about our tier system.

Do you offer a low-cost fee?

We offer a fee tier system. Please click here to see our fee options.

Do you accept insurance?

Currently we do not accept insurance for payment. We are an out-of-network provider. This means that we can provide you with an invoice for services, which you may be able to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. It is very important for you to contact your insurance provider to ensure that this is a viable option for you. You can ask them about your “out-of-network coverage.” Not all insurance providers offer this.

What should I expect during my initial appointment?

You have scheduled your first appointment. This is exciting! This can also feel nerve-wrecking, especially if this is your first time receiving therapy. It’s important to know that it is okay to be nervous and have mixed feelings. We hope to put some of these feelings at ease. It is our goal to create an environment in which you feel heard, safe and empowered to start sharing what led you to Dando Luz Wellness Collective.

Prior to your first appointment you will need to fill out an intake form. It will be sent to you via a secure patient portal. This must be filled out 48 hours prior to your initial session. Your therapist will review your completed intake form prior to your initial session in order to start understanding some of your needs. Your goals will be explored further with you during your initial session.

During this time, please pay attention to how you are feeling while engaging with your therapist. Do you feel comfortable? Do you see yourself building a rapport with this person? If during the first initial therapy session, you do not see this therapist being compatible to your needs, please feel empowered to verbalize this. Often times it takes a few sessions to determine this. We are here to support your needs; however, we recognize that in certain instances these may be better met by another therapist.

It is important that both you and your therapist can establish that you are a “good fit” for each other.

Do you provide in-person therapy?

No. We do not provide in-person therapy. Services are provided via-teletherapy using a secure link.

What if someone I know needs therapy?

If someone you know needs therapy and you want to provide them with our information, please do so. Although you may feel compelled to reach out for them, it is important that they reach out to us when they feel ready to get started.
